Saturday 14th May Rayne Twinning Association hosted an evening of food and entertainment with our twin town in France – Verberie. After arriving around lunch time our Twins were settled with local families many of who have become long-term friends, before turning up at the Village Hall for an evening of entertainment starting with a cooking competition. The trifle making competition was I believe won by a French competitor who was informed of the “secret” ingredient of M & S custard!
After enjoying a wonderful dinner supplied by Rayne Twinning and consuming vast amounts of trifle our French cousins were ready for some English entertainment. Bingo!
So after much explaining by Pascal two rousing rounds of Bingo were played and enjoyed by all with typical English prizes of Tiptree jam and the like given out.
